In September of this year, I was sitting in my church’s Serve Team conference when I heard the name "Church Murch" pop into my head. Wouldn’t that be a cool name for a Christian apparel company?
I had spent the past six months working in corporate marketing for a luxury retailer and the past year learning more about streetwear—the culture, the vibe, the lifestyle. God was preparing me for what I believe has been His plan from the beginning: Church Murch, a curated collection of Christian streetwear.
After my short stint in fashion, I started seeing new categories of brands: "sustainable," "diversely owned," etc. Why can’t "faith-based apparel" be a category in and of itself? Why is Fear of God the only mainstream brand that directs people to God? Why can’t Christian companies be elevated to be more chic and aesthetically pleasing, so we can expand the kingdom of God and reach more people?
If we build it, they will come.
I hope that when you visit Church Murch you feel inspired. You are inspired by other Christian business owners who have followed their call and are creating incredible products for you, so you can spread the Good News. I hope you feel recognized. You see yourself in our products and brands, and you continue to step out in faith to live the purpose that God has called you to. Lastly, I hope you feel connected to your faith. I pray that you are continuing to walk in the boldness Jesus modeled for all of us and the apparel you find at Church Murch is a reminder of that every day.
Fashion isn’t everything, and we will not place this above Jesus in our hearts, but it can be one thing. A conversation starter at a coffee shop; a gift for someone you’re still waiting to come to Christ; a demonstration of your love for Jesus and all things Him
I hope you find what you are looking for here—and so much more!
As someone who has stepped out on faith to build Church Murch, I appreciate your support more than you know. I also hope that this is your affirmation from God to continue to walk in the purpose He has for your life and remember that He has called you for a time such as this.
Love you,
Alexis
